Shreveport, LA – Rain is set to move into the Shreveport area late tonight, followed by thunderstorms early Sunday, bringing heavy downpours and cooler temperatures.
The National Weather Service forecasts a 60% chance of showers beginning after midnight, increasing to a 100% chance of rain Sunday morning. Thunderstorms are expected to develop early, accompanied by gusty winds and periods of heavy rainfall. Highs on Sunday will reach 63°F before skies begin to clear later in the day.
Motorists should prepare for potentially hazardous road conditions Sunday morning, particularly on I-20 and surrounding routes, as ponding and reduced visibility are likely. Residents are advised to monitor local forecasts and plan for slower commutes if traveling during peak rain hours.
After the storms pass, conditions will improve significantly heading into the new workweek. Monday brings mostly sunny skies and highs near 72°F. The warming trend will continue through midweek, with highs reaching 75°F by Tuesday under clear skies.
With rain and storms on the horizon, Shreveport residents should take precautions tonight and Sunday while looking forward to drier, warmer weather in the days ahead.
