Jackson, MS – Rain chances are increasing for Sunday, with temperatures climbing to the low 60s ahead of a cold front. Sunshine will dominate Saturday, but overnight clouds will give way to widespread showers by early Sunday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, a 30% chance of rain begins late tonight, increasing to 70% Sunday as a system pushes through the area. Winds from the south may gust up to 20 mph, and new rainfall totals will range between a tenth and a quarter inch.
Roadways such as I-20 and I-55 could experience slick conditions during Sunday morning and evening commutes. Drivers should proceed cautiously, particularly during periods of heavier rain.
The weather pattern will shift again by Monday night, as showers linger before colder, drier air moves in on Wednesday. Highs on Monday will stay in the upper 50s, with a chance of overnight storms dropping temperatures into the 30s by Tuesday night.
The rest of the week brings much calmer weather. Sunshine will return Wednesday with highs near 52°F, followed by sunny conditions persisting into Thursday and Friday as temperatures stabilize in the mid-50s.
Residents should plan accordingly for potential wet weather during the weekend and early next week. Keep an umbrella and light jacket handy, and stay updated through local forecasts.
