Los Angeles, CA – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for parts of Southern California, bringing snowfall and strong winds to mountain areas, including the Interstate 5 corridor near the Grapevine. The advisory is in place until 4 p.m. Monday, impacting travel and road conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles, total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected in the Northern Ventura County Mountains, with some areas near the Kern County line seeing up to 6 inches. At elevations between 3,000 and 5,000 feet, snowfall could range from 1 to 3 inches, with localized amounts up to 5 inches. Winds may gust as high as 60 mph, making travel hazardous.

The advisory also covers the Western and Eastern San Gabriel Mountains and the Highway 14 corridor, where snowfall between 1 and 3 inches is expected, with isolated areas receiving up to 5 inches. Winds in these regions could reach speeds of 45 mph. The winter weather advisory for these areas expires at 6 a.m. Monday morning.

Authorities urge drivers to use caution, as slippery roads and low visibility could make travel dangerous, particularly on I-5 and Angeles Crest Highway. Motorists should check road conditions by dialing 511 before traveling.
