Little Rock, AR – A wind advisory has been issued for much of Arkansas, with strong gusts expected to impact the state from Tuesday evening through Wednesday. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns that wind speeds could reach 25 mph, with gusts exceeding 40 mph in most areas. Higher elevations in the Ozark, Ouachita, and Boston Mountains may experience gusts up to 50 mph.

According to the NWS, the advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. Tuesday until 6 p.m. Wednesday. Areas affected include central, eastern, north-central, southeast, southwest, and western Arkansas, impacting cities such as Little Rock, Fayetteville, and Hot Springs.

The strong winds may pose hazards, including fallen tree limbs and scattered power outages. Drivers of high-profile vehicles should exercise caution, as wind gusts could make travel challenging. Additionally, the advisory warns that choppy waters on lakes and rivers may create hazardous conditions for boaters.

Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor objects and prepare for potential power disruptions. Those in elevated terrain should be particularly cautious, as winds will be stronger in higher elevations.

For the latest updates, residents should monitor weather alerts and follow guidance from local authorities.
