Los Angeles, CA – A massive fire erupted at an auto body and paint repair shop in Lake Balboa, drawing more than 100 Los Angeles Fire Department responders. The fire, which broke out on Saturday, consumed the 3,544-square-foot structure located at 16816 Saticoy Street.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, firefighters arrived to find the building engulfed in flames, with explosions heard inside. Despite the extreme heat, with temperatures reaching 108 degrees Fahrenheit, the team worked diligently to extinguish the blaze within an hour. Flames destroyed the business, as well as several nearby vehicles.
No injuries were reported during the incident. LAFD officials are investigating the cause of the fire. The rapid response prevented further damage to surrounding properties.
This marks one of the larger fires LAFD has faced during the ongoing heatwave in the Los Angeles area. Local authorities urge business owners to review fire safety protocols as summer heat continues.
