Logansport, Indiana: Free Training for Lithium-Ion Battery Emergency Response

Logansport, IN – The Logansport Central Fire Station will host a free training event on June 21 and 22, focusing on technician response to lithium-ion battery emergencies. The training, conducted by BatteryIQ, aims to equip attendees with the skills needed to manage incidents involving battery failures, such as fires from cellphones and electric vehicles.

According to event organizers, participants will receive Battery Response Guides to help categorize and respond to various battery-related emergencies. The sessions will include hands-on learning, using tools like thermal imaging cameras to detect issues and demonstrating the dismantling and safe disposal of faulty batteries. The evening session on June 21 will run from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, while the morning session on June 22 will be held from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
