CISSNA PARK – An increased security presence is being felt at Cissna Park Junior/Senior High School today after an alleged threat was made.

District Superintendent Dr. Daniel Hylbert made parents aware of a potential threat in an e-mail by someone on social media who claimed to live in town and did not attend the school.

In the threat posted to Instagram, the person called the school “boring” and said multiple people would change that during a school assembly Thursday.  The post went into detail describing a “project” that had been planned for a month and ended with the phrase “let the fun begin.”

The school district has since been in contact with local law enforcement since and requested extra security Thursday.
