MORRIS — Saturday morning, a harmless toilet paper prank escalated into a high-speed chase, leading to a significant accident on Buchanan Street.

According to Morris Police, it happened around 12:50 a.m. when two mischievous juveniles were caught in the act of toilet papering a Morris residence. Todd Stricklin, 35, a local resident, took matters into his own hands, allegedly mounting his motorcycle in an attempt to chase down the fleeing pranksters.

Their pursuit quickly took a dangerous turn. Stricklin, in his haste, reportedly collided with a parked car, veered off the road, and smashed into a nearby building, bringing a stop sign down in the process.

Morris Police Department later caught up to him and apprehended Stricklin, booking him on alleged assault charges, driving on a revoked license, operating without insurance, and failing to reduce speed leading to an accident.

Stricklin has since been released and is now awaiting his court appearance.
