Terrifying Abduction: Illinois Woman Arrested After Snatching Four Girls at Park

MANTENO, IL – A 47-year-old woman was arrested by Manteno Police for allegedly abducting four young girls at knifepoint. 

According to reports, the alleged abduction incident occurred at a local park in Manteno around two o’clock on Monday afternoon. Manteno Police say the girls recounted a harrowing ordeal in which they were approached by the suspect, later identified as Anita Diaz. 

Diaz allegedly brandished a knife and threatened the terrified girls before coercing them into her vehicle. She then purportedly transported the girls to various locations in Bourbonnais and Manteno.

After lasting several hours, Diaz released the girls at another Manteno park at approximately five o’clock last night. The identities of the girls and their ages was not released. Thankfully, the girls were unharmed and were swiftly reunited with their relieved parents. Manteno Police wasted no time in apprehending Diaz late Monday night. 

Diaz, of Manteno, has been charged with Aggravated Unlawful Restraint and is awaiting a bond hearing scheduled for later today.
