Second Body Found in Ottawa, Illinois in Less Than a Month

OTTAWA, IL – For the second time in under a month, a body has been found in Ottawa, Illinois. 

The most recent discovery was made by a passerby on Monday, April 24, in a wooded area just east of OS St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Police and firefighters responded to the scene and the deceased person was taken to a morgue in McLean County for an autopsy. 

Investigators have not yet released the person’s identity or the cause of death, but no foul play is suspected.

Less than a month prior, on March 29th, police and firefighters were called to the River Walk along the Fox River for a man found lying on the river bank. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators found no signs of foul play.

The Ottawa Police Department is investigating both incidents, and they believe that they are isolated with no threat to the community.
