OTTAWA, IL – For the second time in under a month, a body has been found in Ottawa, Illinois.

The most recent discovery was made by a passerby on Monday, April 24, in a wooded area just east of OS St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Police and firefighters responded to the scene and the deceased person was taken to a morgue in McLean County for an autopsy.

Investigators have not yet released the person’s identity or the cause of death, but no foul play is suspected.

Less than a month prior, on March 29th, police and firefighters were called to the River Walk along the Fox River for a man found lying on the river bank. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators found no signs of foul play.
