Hobart, IN – A home on Wabash Street was engulfed in flames, leading to the tragic death of a family dog, while the residents managed to escape unscathed. 

The Hobart Fire Department, reporting on the Sunday night incident, emphasized the crucial role of active smoke alarms and the quick action of the parents in preventing human casualties. The family is currently in alternative accommodation as they deal with the aftermath. 

Local fire departments and police from Hobart and surrounding areas worked collaboratively to control the blaze.
