KANKAKEE – A domestic violence call Friday morning lead to a man’s arrest on aggrieved assault charges.

According to Kankakee City Police, it happened in the 900 block of West Merchant Street just before 7am last Friday.  When officers arrived there they were met at the door by Daniel Nunley, 36, of Kankakee who told police there wasn’t a problem.

After Nunley was removed from the home a woman in the house reported she was in an argument with Nunley who in turn allegedly pulled a gun on her.  Officers soon after discovered a defaced handgun stuck between the arm and cushion of a chair inside the home.

Officers took Nunley into custody for aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a defaced firearm along with other charges.

Nunley is being held on $30,000 bond at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.
