BLOOMINGTON, IL – The Bloomington Police Department is asking the public for assistance in identifying a person of interest in a string of deliberately set fires that occurred over the weekend across the far west side of Bloomington along W. Market and W. Washington streets.
Four separate fires occurred during the overnight hours Saturday and Sunday on the streets, where a single subject allegedly set fire to the properties of four businesses. Thankfully, there were no injuries resulting from the fires.Â
The police department has developed a person of interest in these cases, and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the subject.
The alleged arsonist is an individual is described as a tall, slim-built, white male, between the ages of 20 and 30. The suspect was last seen wearing a brown stocking cap, black hooded sweatshirt, white undershirt, sweat pants with three large white stripes, and was barefoot with flip flops. He was also carrying a dark backpack, large dark shoulder bag, and black trash bag.
