CHICAGO, Ill. – Shoppers at Walmart on Chicago’s Far South Side were left shaken Saturday after gunshots rang out during a brawl between two groups.

The store near 109th and Doty had to be evacuated as police arrived on the scene.

According to police, the altercation escalated quickly and resulted in gunfire. Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident, but the store had to be closed for the night. The groups involved fled the scene before authorities arrived, and no arrests have been made at this time.

Walmart management has stated that it will consult with law enforcement before deciding whether to reopen the store on Sunday. Meanwhile, local residents have expressed their concern about the safety of their community, with some calling for more police presence in the area.

This incident is just the latest in a series of gun-related incidents that have plagued Chicago in recent years. Law enforcement officials continue to work tirelessly to combat the rise in gun violence in the city, but incidents like this serve as a stark reminder of the work that still needs to be done.
