Limestone Township Library District Announces April Events Including Gardening Program

Kankakee, IL – As spring approaches, the Limestone Township Library District is offering a variety of programs catering to all ages and interests. A highlight of the April events is a container gardening presentation by Holly Froning, a University of Illinois Extension Office Master Gardener. The program is scheduled for Monday, April 8 at 10:00 A.M. Participants will learn essential tips for a successful container garden, suitable for patios, balconies, or small spaces. Pre-registration is encouraged for this engaging session.

Further enriching the community’s cultural and educational life, the library hosts weekly and special events throughout April. Highlights include a Family Video Game Party on Thursday, April 4, a Drop-In STEM Craft Day featuring a DIY Eclipse Viewer on Saturday, April 6, and the Adult Book Club discussing “The Heirloom Garden” by Viola Shipman on Tuesday, April 9. Tech enthusiasts can look forward to Drop-in Tech Help on Friday, April 13, and board game aficionados will enjoy a Scrabble game time on Saturday, April 13. Creative minds are invited to an Adult Drop-In Craft Night to create Moss Coasters on Monday, April 15. The month’s events round off with a Comfy Movie Time on Tuesday, April 16, featuring the Studio Ghibli film “The Cat Returns.”
