Fort Wayne, Indiana – Light rain is expected to move into northern Indiana and Lower Michigan on Wednesday, with areas like South Bend, Fort Wayne, and Elkhart likely to see damp conditions through the afternoon and early evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, a few sprinkles or light showers could continue early Tuesday night but will taper off. Rain will return Wednesday, mainly affecting counties near the Michigan border, including LaGrange, St. Joseph, and Steuben. Forecast rainfall amounts remain light—mostly under a tenth of an inch.

Highs will reach the mid-60s Wednesday under overcast skies. By Thursday, temperatures will rebound into the low 70s with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Conditions remain dry for most of the region until Friday, when there’s a 20% chance of showers east of I-69.

Drivers should allow extra time for morning and midday travel Wednesday due to slick roads. While flooding is not expected, light rain could reduce visibility during commutes.

The National Weather Service will issue updates if rain chances increase or if weekend showers become more widespread.
