Fort Myers, FL – Three men were arrested following an overnight disturbance in a wooded area near a lake in North Fort Myers, prompting a response from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 8:00 p.m. to a reported altercation near Del Prado Boulevard and Downhill Place. Investigators said a group of friends had gathered near the lake when another group of individuals they allegedly knew arrived at the scene.
Authorities say the first group attempted to leave to avoid confrontation, but their vehicle became stuck in the area. Deputies report the second group then allegedly approached the vehicle, shattered a window, and battered two individuals inside. Both victims were transported to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries.
During the investigation, deputies detained two suspects at the scene, identified as Jacob Britton and William Johnson. A third individual, Cameron Bradford, later contacted authorities and turned himself in.
According to deputies, Britton is charged with burglary with battery. Johnson faces a charge of felony battery. Bradford is charged with burglary with battery and felony battery in connection to the incident.
Sheriff Carmine Marceno stated that what began as an attempt to avoid conflict escalated due to the alleged actions of those involved, adding that deputies acted swiftly to ensure those responsible were held accountable.
