LaSalle County Authorities Arrest Man for Child Pornography, Firearm Violations

LaSalle County, IL – A rural Sheridan man has been arrested in LaSalle County for child pornography possession and firearm violations. Authorities charged Mark J. Patton, 31, with four counts of possessing child pornography and unlawful possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card.

According to the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, Patton’s arrest occurred on Thursday. Investigators from the Illinois Attorney General’s High Tech Crimes Bureau and the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the operation. Following the arrest, Patton was transported to the LaSalle County Jail, where he was released

Patton’s case involves the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, which played a key role in the investigation. Sheriff Adam Diss confirmed that the arrest is part of ongoing efforts to combat child exploitation online.
