Lake Village, IN – A collision involving a semi-tractor trailer and a pickup truck occurred at the intersection of US41 and SR10 in Lake Village on Thursday, resulting in injuries. Newton County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene around 12:00 PM.
According to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, the preliminary investigation indicates that a 27-year-old Chicago man was driving the semi-tractor trailer westbound on SR10. Simultaneously, an 80-year-old Rensselaer man was driving a Nissan pickup truck northbound on US41. Both drivers entered the intersection simultaneously, causing the pickup truck to collide with the trailer of the semi-tractor.
The occupants of the pickup truck were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The semi-tractor trailer driver did not sustain any injuries. The investigation is ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Sergeant Miller at 219-474-5661.
