Indiana, Northwest Region – The weekend weather forecast offers a mix of sunshine and mild temperatures across Northwest Indiana, but beachgoers should exercise caution due to a high swim risk along Lake Michigan beaches through Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service in Chicago reports that conditions will be mostly clear and breezy through the weekend, with highs ranging from 73 to 81 degrees. While the warm weather may be ideal for outdoor activities, swimmers in Northwest Indiana are urged to heed warnings due to life-threatening currents and high waves.

According to the NWS, the high swim risk is expected to last until Saturday morning. The agency advises avoiding swimming and staying off piers, breakwalls, and lakeshore trails, as these conditions have previously resulted in drownings. Despite the hazardous conditions near the lake, the forecast inland is favorable, with sunny skies persisting into Monday.

As the week progresses, temperatures are expected to rise, with highs reaching the mid-80s by Thursday. Residents and visitors should monitor local forecasts and stay updated on swim advisories.
