Lake in the Hills, IL – Residents and visitors should prepare for significant traffic disruptions as the annual Summer Sunset Fest begins this Friday, August 30th. Major road closures will affect Haligus Road and surrounding areas, particularly on Saturday during the Sunset Fest Parade.
According to the Lake in the Hills Police Department, Haligus Road will be closed from 10:50 a.m. to approximately 11:30 a.m. between 9200 Haligus Road and Miller Road. The closure will extend until noon on Miller Road, east of Haligus Road, to Sunset Park, 5200 Miller Road. Motorists are urged to plan alternate routes during these times to avoid delays.
Parking lots at Sunset Park will be available but will close during the parade for pedestrian safety. Those planning to attend the parade should arrive early to secure parking and be prepared for delays when entering or exiting the area.
