The bridge on Joliet Street has been restricted to a single lane, causing significant traffic congestion as vehicles are now limited to the center of the bridge.
According to the Lake County Highway Department, the restriction was implemented due to concerns over the structural integrity of the bridge, which has made it necessary to narrow traffic to one lane. The county is actively soliciting proposals to address and rectify this issue.
