Gary, IN – A 50-year-old man was found dead inside a residence on Broadway Street on Friday morning.
Gary Police responded to a service call at 11:43 a.m. at a home in the 3700 block of Broadway. According to the department, dispatch alerted officers that an adult male was unresponsive inside the house.
When officers arrived, they met with Gary Fire Department responders. Firefighters confirmed the man had died from a gunshot wound. Authorities secured the scene and launched an investigation.
The Lake County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force and Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit joined the case. The Lake County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as a 50-year-old Gary resident.
Investigators are urging anyone with information to contact the Lake County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force at 219-755-3855. Police stated that the investigation remains ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
