Lake County, IN: Man Found Dead in Yard, Police Launch Homicide Investigation

Gary, IN – Authorities are investigating the death of a 62-year-old Lake County man found unresponsive in the front yard of a Gary residence late Thursday night. Police responded around 11:55 p.m. to a call reporting a man down in the 2200 block of Baker Street.

Upon arrival, officers located the man, who showed no signs of life. The Gary Fire Department confirmed the man, identified as a local Lake County resident, was deceased at the scene.

Police immediately secured the area and contacted the Lake County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force, along with the Lake County Coroner’s Office and the Lake County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) team, to assist in the investigation.
