Lake County, IN – East Chicago Police Investigate Early Morning Arson Captured on Camera After Flaming Object Hurled Through Window

East Chicago, IN – A residential neighborhood in East Chicago became a crime scene Sunday morning, when an individual was allegedly seen on a Neighbors app camera committing arson. According to the East Chicago Police Department, the incident occurred on 138th and Alder Street. A video circulating on social media appears to show a person throwing a lit object through a window of a home, igniting a blaze.

Authorities have confirmed the investigation is in full swing, with detectives collecting evidence and canvassing for witnesses. The East Chicago Police have reached out to the community for assistance, asking anyone with additional footage or information to come forward.
