Highland, IN – A 47-year-old Highland man was killed early Wednesday morning after his Jeep rolled over off U.S. 41/Indianapolis Boulevard, according to the Highland Police Department.
At approximately 4:39 a.m., officers responded to the 9200 block of US-41/Indianapolis Blvd for reports of a serious crash. Upon arrival, police found a 2021 Jeep that had veered off the roadway for unknown reasons, entered an empty lot at 9227 Indianapolis Blvd, and struck a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to roll over, officials said.
When officers reached the driver, he was found deceased at the scene. The man’s identity has not been publicly released pending family notification.
According to Commander John Banasiak, the Lake County Coroner’s Office and South Lake County Reconstruction Team are assisting in the ongoing investigation. Authorities have not yet determined what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
Police said no other vehicles were involved, and no further details were immediately available.
