Hobart, IN – A 38-year-old man from Hobart was fatally struck by a train on Tuesday, October 1. The Lake County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Keith Deering. The incident occurred around 12:34 p.m. near the 4100 block of Pennsylvania Street in Hobart, Indiana.

According to the Lake County Coroner, Deering was identified through fingerprint analysis. His death was confirmed at 1:30 p.m. by the coroner’s investigator on the scene. An autopsy conducted on Wednesday revealed that Deering died from multiple blunt force trauma sustained in the accident.
