La Crosse, WI – Patchy dense fog blanketed the area this morning, reducing visibility to a quarter mile or less, especially on ridgetops. However, the fog is expected to clear as the morning progresses.

According to the US National Weather Service in La Crosse, visibility was significantly reduced due to the dense fog, causing potential travel hazards. Drivers were advised to use low-beam headlights and exercise caution. The fog is expected to lift by late morning, as increasing winds from the west help to clear the low-level moisture.

Looking ahead, the forecast for La Crosse includes a high chance of rain throughout the day, with temperatures peaking at 83 degrees. Independence Day celebrations might be dampened by a 45% chance of showers on Thursday and a 65% chance on Friday. The weekend offers some respite, with sunny skies and highs of 80 degrees on Saturday. However, rain returns on Sunday with a 55% chance of showers and temperatures around 76 degrees. Monday continues the trend with a 50% chance of rain and highs near 75 degrees.
