Tulsa, OK – An oppressive heat wave will impact Oklahoma today, bringing dangerously high temperatures and humidity across the region. The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for eastern Oklahoma and west-central Arkansas, where afternoon heat indices are expected to reach 110°F or higher.

According to the National Weather Service, the warning will be in effect from noon to 9 p.m. Heat indices elsewhere in the region, including Tulsa, could reach between 105°F and 108°F, prompting a Heat Advisory during the same time period. Residents are urged to take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses.

The forecast for Tulsa indicates a high of 96°F today, with a 45% chance of scattered thunderstorms providing some relief. The extreme heat will persist through the week, with temperatures reaching 99°F on Thursday. Friday will see a slight dip to 88°F, but the heat returns over the weekend with highs of 92°F on Saturday and 90°F on Sunday.
