La Crosse, WI – Residents in La Crosse and surrounding areas should brace for persistent showers and patchy fog as a damp weather pattern continues to grip the region through Tuesday. Drivers are urged to exercise caution, as low visibility and slick roads could make commutes challenging, particularly on busy routes like Interstate 90.

According to the National Weather Service, La Crosse will see steady rain on Monday, with potential thunderstorms in the afternoon. Showers are expected to begin early, with winds gusting up to 18 mph. Visibility will be reduced in areas of patchy fog, especially in low-lying spots. Monday’s high is forecasted to reach 68°F, with temperatures dropping to around 49°F overnight.

Conditions will remain unsettled on Tuesday, as the rain continues and winds shift to the northwest. Forecasters expect additional showers, with rainfall accumulations between a tenth and a quarter inch likely. The high temperature will cool to 53°F, and overnight lows will dip to the mid-30s by Tuesday night, when clearer skies are expected to arrive.

The remainder of the week should bring some respite, with partly cloudy and mostly sunny skies forecast for Wednesday and Thursday. Highs are predicted to reach 57°F on Wednesday and 50°F on Thursday, allowing the area to dry out after several days of rain.

Residents should monitor local weather reports for potential updates on thunderstorms and fog advisories. Motorists should stay cautious on wet and foggy roads and allow for extra travel time as the weather impacts visibility and driving conditions.
