A rollover crash on I-95 in Kittery early Friday left a Berwick man in critical condition, according to Maine State Police.
Authorities responded to the scene at mile marker 2 on the southbound side of the interstate around 12:10 a.m. and found a gold Buick sedan overturned on its roof, blocking multiple lanes. The driver, identified as 48-year-old Kristopher Robidas-Adams, was trapped inside the vehicle.
Troopers and Kittery police attempted to extricate Robidas-Adams but were unsuccessful due to the severity of the wreckage. Emergency crews from Kittery Fire/EMS and York Fire/EMS provided medical assistance and eventually freed the driver. He was transported to a Portsmouth hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The southbound lanes of I-95 were fully closed from exit 7 for approximately two hours while crews worked at the scene.
