Bakersfield, CA – The Kern County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Division, working alongside the Sheriff’s V.E.C.T.O.R. Unit (Violence and Exploitation Counter Trafficking Operations and Response), led a multi-day operation beginning October 29, 2025, focused on identifying suspected child predators across the Bakersfield area.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, four men were arrested during the operation: Dylan Parada, 26; Clayton Dunnaway, 32; Celso Medina, 25; and Hector Chavez, 26. The suspects allegedly attempted to exploit minors online and were taken into custody on multiple felony charges, including arranging to meet with a juvenile for sexual activity and communicating with a minor with intent for sex.

Investigators also reportedly discovered child pornography on several electronic devices belonging to the suspects.

The coordinated operation included support from the Shafter Police Department, the U.S. Secret Service/Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the Kern County District Attorney’s Office Investigations Bureau. These agencies assisted with both digital surveillance and the physical apprehension of the suspects.

Officials noted that predators often use social media to contact and groom minors. The operation was timed ahead of Halloween weekend, a period when children are especially visible in the community.

Authorities said the effort underscores their ongoing commitment to protecting local youth from online exploitation and holding offenders accountable through collaborative enforcement efforts.
