Paducah, KY – The first full week of February kicks off with unseasonably warm temperatures across Kentucky, but a shift is on the way. While Monday brings sunshine and highs reaching the low 70s, rain and thunderstorms are expected midweek, potentially affecting travel and outdoor plans.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will be mostly sunny with highs between 66°F and 72°F. Tuesday sees increasing clouds and a slight dip in temperatures, with highs from 51°F to 64°F. By late Tuesday night, widespread rain moves into the region, with a strong chance of thunderstorms on Wednesday.

Wednesday’s storms could bring heavy rain and gusty winds, with temperatures ranging from 54°F to 69°F. Showers continue into Thursday, gradually tapering off by the evening. Highs will remain in the low 60s before cooler air moves in by Friday.

Drivers should watch for wet roads midweek, especially on major routes like I-24. Residents planning outdoor activities should take advantage of Monday’s warmth before rain arrives. Stay updated with the latest forecasts at weather.gov.
