Caribou, ME – A bitter cold front will grip northern Maine this week, bringing subzero wind chills, snow showers, and fluctuating temperatures. Residents should prepare for dangerously cold mornings and periods of snow impacting travel.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Caribou, a Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Sunday, with wind chills as low as -35°F in some areas. Temperatures will moderate slightly into Monday, but snow is expected before tapering to snow showers in the afternoon. Highs will reach the low 30s.

By Tuesday, snow showers will persist before clearing midweek. Wednesday and Thursday will be dry but cold, with highs in the teens and lows dipping below zero at night. Another snow system may develop by Friday, with accumulating snowfall possible.

Drivers should use caution on icy roads, especially during overnight hours. Residents are advised to dress warmly and limit outdoor exposure during the coldest periods.
