Jackson, KY – A clear and chilly weekend in eastern Kentucky will give way to stormy skies by Monday afternoon as a cold front moves through the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, overnight lows Saturday into Sunday will range from 29 to 39 degrees, with isolated spots in deep river valleys dipping into the 20s. Sunday will start cold, with highs reaching between 59 and 70 degrees, and just a 10-20% chance of isolated rain in eastern counties during the afternoon.
Conditions will shift notably on Monday. Clouds will increase throughout the day, bringing a 20-40% chance of showers and thunderstorms by the afternoon. Highs will climb into the low 70s, with lows dropping again Monday night into the 50s as the front pushes through.
By Tuesday morning, rain is expected to taper off early, giving way to partly to mostly sunny skies. High temperatures will range from 64 to 60 degrees, while lows will settle between 46 and 50 degrees.
