Paducah, KY – Storm chances ramp up Friday across western Kentucky, with Paducah and communities along I-24 facing gusty winds, heavy rain, and localized flooding through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, multiple rounds of thunderstorms are expected Friday through Saturday night, with the highest risk of strong to severe storms arriving Friday evening into early Saturday morning. Damaging winds, lightning, and flash flooding are the main threats. Storms may become slow-moving, increasing the risk for flooding along low-lying roads and urban areas, especially near the I-24 corridor.

Friday will begin partly cloudy before storms increase after 1 p.m. Highs reach the mid-80s. Rain chances top 80% late in the day, and storms may continue overnight into early Saturday. Saturday brings more scattered showers and storms, with some possible between 1–7 p.m.

While Sunday offers a brief break with mostly sunny skies, rain returns Monday afternoon and could continue into Tuesday morning.
