LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Drivers across Kentucky should prepare for dangerous visibility early Sunday as dense fog spreads into the Louisville metro before sunrise. Motorists along I-64 and I-65 may encounter sudden drops in visibility until late morning, raising the risk of delays and accidents.

According to the National Weather Service, fog is expected to lift by 10 a.m. Sunday, giving way to clear skies and a high near 83 degrees. Winds remain calm through the morning before shifting northwest, helping drier air move in. Officials urge drivers to slow down, use low beams, and allow extra space when traveling before fog clears.

By Sunday afternoon, the region will see full sunshine, offering relief for outdoor events, including games and late-summer gatherings. Sunday night remains mostly clear with lows dipping to 58, making for a comfortable evening outdoors.

The warming trend continues Monday, with sunshine pushing highs into the upper 70s. Light winds will increase slightly, adding a breeze through the day. Commuters on Tuesday should expect another foggy start before sunshine dominates. Highs remain in the mid-to-upper 70s through midweek, keeping conditions warm but manageable.

Looking further ahead, Wednesday and Thursday will stay partly sunny, with highs near 80 and cooler nights in the low to mid-50s. The pattern favors dry roads and comfortable evenings heading into late August.

Drivers should remain alert Sunday morning, with updates possible if fog thickens or lingers longer than expected.
