Louisville, KY – The National Weather Service (NWS) Louisville forecasts a sweltering end to the week, with temperatures peaking near 98 degrees on both Friday and Saturday. The heat index is expected to reach a scorching 100 degrees.

According to NWS Louisville, Thursday will also be hot, with temperatures ranging from 90 to 96 degrees and a peak heat index of 99 degrees. Residents can expect mostly sunny skies and should take precautions to stay hydrated and cool.

Friday and Saturday will bring the highest temperatures of the week, with both days predicted to hit 98 degrees. The peak heat index will soar to between 96 and 100 degrees, making outdoor activities potentially hazardous. It’s crucial to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and take breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas.

Today, the forecast includes isolated showers and thunderstorms, with temperatures between 90 and 95 degrees and a heat index peaking at 99 degrees. Wednesday will be mostly dry, with temperatures slightly cooler, ranging from 89 to 94 degrees, and a heat index of up to 97 degrees.
