Charleston, WV – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for parts of West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio, with snow and gusty winds expected to impact travel through Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service in Charleston, snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches are expected across the region, with higher amounts in elevated areas. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph, especially in Webster, Pocahontas, and Randolph counties. The advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m. Thursday for lower elevationsand 10 p.m. Thursday for higher elevations.
Slippery road conditions are expected, affecting both the Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Wind gusts may also cause power outages and bring down tree branches. Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution.
