Paducah, KY – A Flood Watch has been issued for parts of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri from late Wednesday night through late Thursday night due to expected heavy rainfall.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, rainfall totals of 1.5 to 2.5 inches are forecast across the affected areas, with localized amounts reaching 3 to 4 inches. This could lead to flooding in low-lying areas, creeks, streams, and rivers.

The watch includes major cities such as Evansville, Paducah, Cape Girardeau, Owensboro, and Poplar Bluff, as well as counties along and south of Interstate 64 in Indiana and throughout western Kentucky and southeast Missouri.

Residents in flood-prone areas are advised to stay alert for possible Flood Warnings and be prepared to take action if flooding develops. Motorists should avoid driving through flooded roads and be cautious of rapidly rising water levels.
