Louisville, KY — Portions of Kentucky are set to experience a significant drop in temperatures this week, with some areas seeing lows in the 40s. While Tuesday and Wednesday will maintain comfortable highs in the mid to upper 70s, a shift is expected as the week progresses.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Louisville, temperatures across Kentucky will remain dry and pleasant through Wednesday. Louisville and surrounding areas can expect highs around 77°F, with cooler morning lows in the mid-50s. However, beginning Thursday, a warm front will push temperatures back into the 80s, peaking at around 88°F by Friday.
Eastern parts of the state, including Richmond and Burkesville, could see overnight lows dip as far as 48°F by Thursday. The cooler weather will be brief, with temperatures rebounding into the weekend. By Saturday, the entire state will experience highs in the upper 80s to low 90s, signaling the return of warmer conditions.
Residents are encouraged to enjoy the mild weather early in the week and prepare for the temperature fluctuations expected later. As summer wanes, these cooler nights offer a glimpse of the approaching fall season, although the return to warmer days is imminent.
