Corpus Christi, TX – South Texas is bracing for extreme heat as a Heat Advisory and Excessive Heat Warning are in effect today and Wednesday. Residents in the region, including Corpus Christi, should prepare for potentially life-threatening conditions, with heat indices expected to reach between 110 and 115 degrees.

The National Weather Service issued the Heat Advisory from noon to 8 p.m. on both days, cautioning that the oppressive heat could lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Wednesday’s forecast is even more severe, with an Excessive Heat Warning predicting heat indices of up to 115 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will remain high throughout the week. Wednesday is expected to reach a high of 97 degrees, while Thursday through Saturday will see slightly lower temperatures, ranging from 92 to 94 degrees. Despite the drop, the heat index will still pose a risk.

Residents are advised to stay indoors, hydrate frequently, and avoid strenuous outdoor activities. Pets and vulnerable individuals, such as the elderly, should be monitored closely. The extreme heat will ease slightly by Sunday, with a high of 91 degrees and partly cloudy skies.
