Louisville, KY – Kentucky residents can expect milder temperatures leading up to Christmas Day, but rain could disrupt midweek plans. Today, skies will remain sunny, with highs around 38°F and light southeast winds.

According to the National Weather Service, increasing clouds on Monday will bring temperatures into the upper 40s. Rain chances climb Monday night and linger through Wednesday, with highs in the mid-50s by Christmas Day. While rainfall is not expected to be heavy, scattered showers could make road conditions slick, especially during holiday travel on major routes like I-64 and I-65.

Tuesday’s forecast includes a 40% chance of showers in the afternoon, with temperatures peaking at 51°F. Christmas Day will feature similar conditions, with mostly cloudy skies and occasional showers. Winds remain light throughout the week, but consistent rain may create minor visibility issues for drivers.

Looking further ahead, Thursday’s temperatures will reach a high of 56°F under mostly cloudy skies. Rain chances decrease toward the weekend, creating better travel conditions for post-holiday plans.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time for commutes during peak travel periods. Stay updated by checking the latest forecasts before heading out. Those hosting outdoor Christmas activities may need backup plans, as scattered showers remain likely through Wednesday evening.

The warm-up offers a reprieve from recent freezing temperatures, making it an ideal time to finish last-minute holiday errands before wet weather sets in.
