Village of Salem Lakes, WI – Deputies with the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office say there is no ongoing threat at Wilmot High School following an investigation into an alleged school threat communicated by a 17-year-old student earlier this week.
According to Lt. Daniel Ruth, Public Information Officer, the incident was reported on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, after a third-party relayed concerns about a possible threat made by a Wilmot High student. Deputies immediately investigated and determined that no threat was made to the school, its students, or staff.
The Sheriff’s Office says it worked closely with Wilmot High School administration throughout the process. Out of an abundance of caution, additional deputies have been assigned to the school today and Friday alongside the regular school resource officer.
Officials emphasized the importance of community awareness and vigilance. “It is crucial to be vigilant and report any concerning behavior to the appropriate authorities,” said Sheriff David W. Zoerner. “Let’s continue working together to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in our community.”
The department stated that updates will be provided to both the community and media as appropriate.
