Kendall County, Oswego Alert: Authorities Seek Help to ID Suspect in Urgent Home Invasion Case

Kendall County, IL – The Village of Oswego Police Department is actively seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a home invasion and criminal sexual assault. 

According to the police report, the alarming event took place on Saturday, March 16, around 10:16 p.m. in the 0-300 block of South Adams. An adult female victim reported that an unidentified male forcibly entered her home and sexually assaulted her. Despite a prompt response and search of the vicinity by the Oswego Police, the suspect managed to flee the scene before officers arrived.

In a bid to apprehend the individual responsible, the Oswego Police Department has released surveillance footage capturing the suspect within the premises, hoping that members of the community can help in identifying him. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, of medium build, with dark hair and a full beard, seen wearing a jacket, long shorts, shoes, and a baseball cap. Surveillance also spotted a red-colored sedan, which might be associated with the suspect.

The Oswego Police urge anyone with information regarding the suspect or the vehicle to contact OPD Detective Burgwald at 630-330-3435 or via email at sburgwald@oswegoil.org. Information can also be provided anonymously through the Kendall County Crime Stoppers at 630-553-5999, where cash rewards are offered for tips leading to an identification and arrest.
