Montgomery, IL – A Montgomery man faces multiple felony charges in connection with failing to meet sex offender registration requirements. Corey McDonald, 28, has been charged with three counts of Unlawful Failure to Register, following an investigation by the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation into McDonald, a registered sex offender, began on November 13, 2023. Allegations surfaced that McDonald had not properly registered his information with the authorities. The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office, upon reviewing the investigation’s details, approved the felony charges.
A warrant for McDonald’s arrest was issued, leading to his apprehension on January 29, 2024, by the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Sex Offender Investigation Branch. McDonald appeared before a judge and was released on pre-trial conditions, with his next court date pending.
