Wichita, KS – Seasonably mild weather conditions will persist through the weekend in Kansas, with highs ranging from 85 to 90 degrees. The US National Weather Service in Wichita forecasts scattered thunderstorms late Saturday, with potential severe weather warnings.

According to the National Weather Service, heavy rain is expected on Sunday, with temperatures dropping to 80-85 degrees. Early morning thunderstorms will continue into Monday, maintaining highs between 80 and 85 degrees.

Today’s maximum temperatures across the state include 85 degrees in Russell, 87 degrees in Salina and Winfield, and 86 degrees in Hutchinson and Wichita. Emporia and Coffeyville will see highs of 84 degrees, while Topeka is set to reach 84 degrees.

Wichita’s current temperature stands at 66 degrees with cloudy skies. The air quality index is reported at 111, deemed unhealthy for sensitive groups. Forecasts predict a sunny Saturday with a high of 90 degrees, followed by a 60% chance of rain on Sunday, dropping temperatures to 78 degrees. Monday will see a 35% chance of rain with a high of 84 degrees.
