Wichita, KS – Kansas residents can expect seasonably cool temperatures primarily in the 80s this week, offering a respite from the summer heat. The National Weather Service in Wichita reports that while temperatures will remain mild, isolated morning showers and thunderstorms may develop, particularly today, though severe weather is not anticipated.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s highs will hover around 86 degrees in Wichita, with isolated thunderstorms possible in the morning. By Wednesday, temperatures will begin to rise slightly, reaching a high of around 90 degrees, as the chance of rain diminishes. The pattern of warming continues through the latter half of the week, with Thursday seeing a high of 89 degrees and Friday expected to hit 94 degrees.

As the weekend approaches, temperatures will climb further, with Saturday forecasted to reach a sweltering 101 degrees. Residents should prepare for the heat, especially as the chances of thunderstorms decrease, making way for clear, sunny skies. The hot conditions are expected to persist into Sunday, with temperatures nearing 98 degrees.

While the early part of the week may bring some relief with cool temperatures and occasional rain, the weekend heatwave serves as a reminder that summer is not over yet in Kansas. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions against the rising temperatures.
