Kansas, US – Unseasonably cool weather is expected across Kansas this weekend, accompanied by periodic showers and the possibility of thunderstorms. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita, high temperatures on Saturday are forecast to remain in the 70s, with showers expected in regions like Russell, Hutchinson, and Winfield. Wichita will see a high of 75°F, while areas such as Salina and Emporia will reach 77°F.

Sunday brings a slight warm-up, with temperatures climbing into the low 80s in some areas, including Wichita and Hutchinson, which are both forecast to hit 82°F. However, the chance of showers and storms persists, particularly in regions like Harper, which could see thunderstorms and highs of 86°F. Storms are also expected in Chanute and Harper, while Topeka and Emporia will stay cooler, with highs just under 80°F.

The NWS advises residents to stay updated on weather conditions as a few strong storms could develop on Sunday. Overall, the weekend will bring a mix of cooler-than-usual temperatures and potential rain, requiring Kansans to keep an eye on the skies.
