Wichita, KS – A tornado watch is in effect across central, south-central, and southeast Kansas, including major cities like Wichita, Andover, and Emporia, until 7 AM CDT this morning. The National Weather Service issued the alert early Wednesday, urging residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant.
According to the National Weather Service, the watch includes 18 counties in central and southeast Kansas, with additional coverage extending into east-central Kansas. The counties under watch include Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Sedgwick, Sumner, and more.
Cities impacted by the watch include Wichita, Andover, Arkansas City, El Dorado, Emporia, Independence, Iola, and others. Residents are advised to monitor local weather stations and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
